Is it necessarily true that when a boy fails to perform up to expectations in his exams, it is ALWAYS the fault of his girlfriend?Well if it is the girlfriend who's asking her boyfriend out till 6 the next morning all the time, then I dare say Yes, it is the fault of the boy's girlfrient. But more often than not, things are not so clear, and it is hard drawing the boundaries of what is right and what is not.
Say for example, it is the boy who calls the girl some 80% of the time, is it right to say that it is the girl's fault?I dare say that some parents will effortlessly jump to the defense of their precious son.I bet all the more it will happen if the son is an only son, because he is all that the two old beings have. The only hope. They will effortlessly blame the girl for being a hussy, distracting their son and so on. But hey, who was the one who got distracted, and called the other party first?
It seems that this tends to happen for boys. If that happens to a girl,it is a different story altogether. Why? Because of the long-standing view that the male is the one who'd bring home the bread and butter, thus it is ok for the girl not to do so well. But hey, the same argument holds. IF the girl doesnt do well, her parents can similarly behave in the same manner as the boy's parents and believe it or not, they can even use the same arguments offered by the boy's parents, leading to what I call a deadlock. Something similar to what Israel and Palestine are embroiled in. You call me an idiot, I call you a moron. All that endless mudslinging. No doubt mudslinging can be exciting, it can be devastating to relationships.
And don't you people realise, more often than not, it is usually the girl who is expected to be understanding towards her boyfriend. But does it necessarily work backwards? Not necessarily. If the girl is not "understanding" enough, people say that she is domineering. But if it were the boy who is not "understanding" enough, he is probably seen as "capable in handling his lass". Just like how a manager is capable of keeping his subordinates in check. Two totally different views about the same issue. Isnt that very unfair and discriminating.
Just what is love? Does it mean that you give unconditionally? Give away all that you have but expect nothing in return?Personally I know of no one who can do it. If there is someone who can do it,then perhaps the person should be canonised in record time, like 2 years after he/she goes 6 ft beneath. I can't help but feel that sometimes if you were to give unconditionally, there will be people who take you for an idiot and keep asking for more. They will never know their limits. You can never satusfy them and yes, it is analogous to throwing small apple seeds into the deepest end of the ocean. You can never fill the ocean with apple seeds, can you?
